Sound Power โ Intensity Method (Scanning)
This scanning-based intensity method continuously measures sound intensity as the probe moves across a measurement surface, enabling rapid acoustic mapping and source characterization without requiring discrete point measurements. The scanning approach is faster and provides superior spatial resolution for identifying noise sources and evaluating acoustic modifications. It works effectively in non-ideal acoustic environments including semi-reverberant or open spaces. Accreditation guarantees proper probe calibration, scanning patterns, and data integration methods meet international standards.
What it measures
- Sound intensity distribution across measurement surface
- Sound power level (Lw) by continuous surface integration
- Frequency-weighted and A-weighted acoustic power
- Acoustic source maps and noise radiation patterns
