Sound power — reverberation field engineering method
ISO 3743-1 specifies the reverberation room method for determining sound power levels of noise sources, suitable for smaller sources or laboratory environments where sound pressure is measured in a reverberant acoustic field. The method is applicable across a wide frequency range and is commonly used for equipment testing, product compliance assessment, and environmental noise impact studies. This engineering-level method balances accuracy with practical testing constraints and is widely required for EU noise directive compliance and product CE marking. Accreditation demonstrates laboratory control of environmental conditions, proper instrumentation calibration, and competence in complex acoustic data analysis.
