Sound Power Level — In-Situ Reference Source Method
This engineering/survey method determines sound power levels using a calibrated reference sound source to account for acoustic environmental conditions during in-situ measurements. It is particularly useful for large or immobile equipment where laboratory testing is impractical, and for on-site verification of noise compliance. The reference source approach compensates for acoustic environmental effects, improving accuracy compared to basic survey methods.
