Railway Wheel Slide Protection Systems
This test evaluates wheel slide protection (WSP) systems installed on railway rolling stock to prevent wheels from locking during braking operations. The test measures the effectiveness of anti-slip devices in maintaining traction between wheel and rail during emergency and service braking events. Wheel slide protection is critical for safety, preventing derailment risks and ensuring stable train deceleration. Railway operators, brake system manufacturers, and rolling stock suppliers require accredited testing to comply with European railway safety directives. ISO 17025 accreditation ensures the test facility meets international standards for competence and traceability in this safety-critical application.
