Railway Catenary Current Collection Quality
This standard defines measurement systems and procedures for evaluating current collection quality between pantograph and overhead catenary lines during train operation. It specifies methods for measuring contact force, arcing, electrical quality, and mechanical interaction to verify system performance in real operational conditions. Railway infrastructure managers and rolling stock operators use these measurements to assess electrification system health, validate pantograph performance, and optimize maintenance schedules.
