Railway Wheel Slide Protection Systems

This test evaluates wheel slide protection (WSP) systems installed on railway rolling stock to prevent wheels from locking during braking operations. The test measures the effectiveness of anti-slip devices in maintaining traction between wheel and rail during emergency and service braking events. Wheel slide protection is critical for safety, preventing derailment risks and ensuring stable train deceleration.
