Railway Brake Adhesion Performance Testing

This test method evaluates the adhesion performance of railway braking systems under controlled wet and contaminated rail conditions. It assesses the ability of brake systems to generate sufficient friction force while maintaining stable deceleration and preventing wheel lock-up. The test is fundamental for railway operators, brake manufacturers, and rolling stock producers to ensure safe braking performance across varying environmental conditions.
