Railway Electropneumatic Brake Systems

UIC 546 specifies technical requirements, testing procedures, and homologation conditions for electropneumatic braking systems and related devices used in passenger train rolling stock. Electropneumatic brakes provide rapid, coordinated braking across train consists by using electrical signals to control pneumatic brake application, improving safety and precision compared to traditional pneumatic systems.
