Railway Wheel Squeal and Curve Noise Assessment
This test method characterizes squeal and curve noise generated by railway wheels during operation, particularly in tight curves and low-adhesion conditions. The evaluation focuses on wheel-rail interaction noise to identify problematic frequency bands and noise generation mechanisms. Railway operators and wheel manufacturers use this test to develop noise mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with environmental noise directives.
