Hand-Arm Vibration Measurement & Evaluation

ISO 5349-1 specifies methods for measuring and evaluating human exposure to vibration transmitted through the hands and arms during operation of hand-held or hand-guided tools and machinery. This test quantifies vibration acceleration in three orthogonal directions to assess occupational health risks including hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) and vascular disorders. Employers, occupational health services, tool manufacturers, and regulatory authorities require this testing to comply with EU and national vibration exposure directives and to protect worker health. Accreditation ensures consistent measurement methodology, proper instrumentation calibration, and correct application of exposure action and limit values.
